Day 3 notes from the Pony Asia-Pacific Zone Championships
Wednesday action at the Pony Asia-Pacific Zone Championships in Okinawa, Japan was lopsided, until host Japan and Chinese Taipei met up in a game for the ages in which the hosts came out on top 7-6. The win propelled undefeated Japan as the tournament's top seed going into Thursday's knockout round. Japan will await the winner of tomorrow's matchup between Australia and Thailand for a spot in the championship game. Meanwhile, the loss to Japan dropped Chinese Taipei into the knockout round's second seed. Thanks to its two victories Wednesday, Korea claimed the knockout round's third seed. The winner of Thursday's Chinese Taipei-Korea contest will advance to Friday's championship game.
Game #10: Korea 21 India 1 F/4
Notes: J,M Lim kept the Indian bats in check all morning long, as he only wielded one run on two hits, while striking out nine. Offensively, the Korean offense collected 13 hits, which led to 21 runs on the day to win convincingly.
Game #11: Chinese Taipei 33 India 0 F/4
Game #12: Korea 17 Australia 0 F/4
Notes: The Korean pitching staff held Australia to three hits on the afternoon, while recording all of its 12 outs by way of strikeouts. Offensively, Korea took advantage of four Australia errors and three walks, while collecting 11 hits win surely.
Game #13: Japan 7 Chinese Taipei 6 F/5
Notes: Both teams were tied (6-6) going into the bottom of the fifth inning, when a throwing error by Chinese Taipei on a Japan strikeout led to Japan manufacturing the game's winning run.

Game #15: #2 Chinese Taipei vs. #3 Korea
Game #16: #1 Japan vs. Game #14 Winner
