Warriors General Info

Most Chicago and Warren Park Warriors teams will have a tryout in the late summer or early fall for the 2016 Warriors travel teams. We do this so the players of the families can make commitments to next season and also participate in winter baseball training.

Contact info for Warriors warriors@warrenparkyouthbaseball.org

The Warren Park Warriors is a baseball program for WPYBLL players to compete against competetive all star and travel teams from the north side of Chicago and suburbs. The Warriors program aims to select the best young baseball players from WPYBLL who can make a substantial time commitment and effort to their spring and summer baseball development. Warriors players continue to play with their friends in the house league as well

As a member of District 12 Little League, WPYBLL offers players the opportunity to make our Little League International Tournament team that will play in the Little League district tournament. This Little League International tournament potentially offers us a chance to play in Williamsport, Pennsylvania at the Little Leauge World Series which is televised on ESPN and ABC. The Warriors International Tournament team may continue to play some games or tournaments after the tournament until the end of July.

The Warriors' players will also be expected to play for their house teams in their regular WPYBLL division and be expected to attend their Warriors practices and games.  Each Warrior player will be expected to play in at least 50 percent of their house league games.  House league seasons are 12 to 16 games.

Tryouts are open to any player from the league or outside the league.

For the 2017 season, all the Warriors teams will receive professional baseball instruction and coaching training from a team of professional coaches led by Joe Perona and Chicago Baseball Club. Joe is a former professional baseball player, longtime WPYBLL baseball coach and the Head Coach of the WPYBLL 2014 Little League 13u Illinois State Championship Team. Joe also founded the Warriors baseball program in 2010
