To become certified to coach in any division there are 3 things you need to accomplish:

  1. First, you need to register as volunteer by filling out an application form. You can do this on-line at www.eayso.org.  Don't forget to e-sign your on-line registration form.  Once the volunteer application form is processed, an AYSO ID number will be generated. This is YOUR ID number. Your division director will provide that to you, AFTER your volunteer form is processed.

  2. With that ID number, you need to take the Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness. These are course's that will train you on safety and keeping you and your team players safe. You can complete this on-line by going to www.aysotraining.org or by signing up for live class at www.eayso.org

  3. The third step is to get certified for the division you are coaching. This requires attending a coaching clinic. For U6 through U12 they are typically a one Saturday clinic. For U14 and U16, they are a Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. You need to attend a new clinic each time you change divisions. This means that if you are already certified for U10, and now you want to coach a U6 team, you need to attend the U6 clinic. You are not automatically certified for lower divisions if you have an upper division certification. You must attend the entire coach clinic for certification.

Only when you complete all three of these steps are you eligible to receive a team roster. Rosters will be passed out at the end of July. There will be a mandatory coach meeting at that time and that is when teams will be passed out. At that meeting you will get your gear (coach manual, ball, sub planner, etc.) and your team roster.
