FireHawks Win Strawberry Festival Tournament

The FireHawks mantra this season is "FireHawks never quit!" And after two come from behind wins during the regular season, the FireHawks showed up at the Strawberry Festival ready to "never quit" on the field. The FireHawks played a Kings Hammer team out of Cincinnati in the first game and easily cruised to a 7-1 victory. With a short hour break, the FireHawks headed to face league rival TSC United on their home field. The FireHawks came out fast and put away TSC with the score 4-1. On Sunday morning with the chance to play in the finals already secure, the FireHawks wasted no time putting away league rival Club X 7-0 giving the team a chance to rest their starters and play kids in different positions. The championship game put the FireHawks against the Columbus Crew Juniors South, a tournament team. The Crew opened up the scoring taking a 1-0 lead early in the game. But the FireHawks battled back going up 2-1 and then 4-1, until battling out a 5-3 victory for the championship. The FireHawks are back to back Strawberry Festival Champions. The FireHawks completely dominated this tournament scoring 23 goals and only allowing 5 in four games.  The team will play Club X on Thursday. A win secures sole position for the league championship.
