The Parsippany Hawthorns U14 Girls placed second in the Baltimore Mania Tournament this past weekend. The Hawthorns started Saturday morning off with a draw before securing a victory in game 2 on Saturday afternoon. Both matches were played in driving rain. On Sunday afternoon, as the temperature dropped and the rain started to freeze, the Parsippany side took the field in control of their own destiny. In the third match, the Hawthorns started and finished strong with a convincing victory. With about an hour to dry off and warm up, the Hawthorns took the field against a strong team from FC Pittsburg that had not been scored upon in three victories. The Hawthorns suffered a tough loss in their final match to finish in second place. Coach Konrad Kruczek and the team parents are extremely proud of the girls who played great soccer despite the extreme weather.
