Girls Compete and Excel in August Cup Tournament

The girls had a very successful tournament winning all three first round games and making it to the final. The final was postponed due to weather. In the first game, Loudoun overcame an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Davidsonville Dynamite 3-1. They passed the ball very effectively and had the opponents goal under seige the entire match.

In the second game, the girls defeated the Calvert Wolves 4-0. This game again demonstrated some fine ball movement and passing that led to point blank shots on goal. Most of the game was played on the opponents third of the field.

In what was to be the last game of the tournament, Loudoun overcame the "second day of a tournament malaise" to defeat the NVCS Jr Majestics 3-0.

The girls now shift their sights to the OBGC Capital Cup next week......
