2018 GBL COACHES CLINIC

We are pleased to announce that we will hold a coaches clinic this Sunday, February 18th from 2pm to 4pm. The coaches clinic will be held at St. George's School in the their Field House on the Collierville campus. St. George's has been a great supporter of the Germantown Baseball League over the past couple of years, and we am thrilled that SGIS Athletic Director Tom Densford has graciously offered to host the clinic indoors, as the weather does not look all that promising for Sunday.

The clinic will be open to all GBL Baseball and Softball coaches. We encourage all head coaches, assistant coaches or any parent who thinks they might want to coach in the future to attend. Whether you are coaching in the T-ball or the High School Division, Baseball or Softball , this clinic will offer something for every age division.

Prior to his time as Athletic Director at SGIS, Tom Densford was one of the areas top baseball coaches at both the high school and collegiate level. He has worked with players of all ages and I am excited to have him as a part of this coaches clinic. We plan on addressing several areas of coaching youth baseball - suggestions on how to run an effective practice, defensive and hitting drills you can use throughout the season, ways to teach proper hitting and pitching, even ways to better communicate with the parents of your players.

Again, this coaches clinic is in no way mandatory, but we would highly recommend attending if at all possible. Even if you have been coaching baseball for 20+ I would still recommend attending. I have never been to a coaching clinic when I didn't come away with something I couldn't use or a new idea I hadn't thought about.

I hope it goes without saying, but there is no charge for this clinic. It is our goal to give you as many tools as possible as you head into the 2018 GBL Season.
