For anyone interested in coaching, assisting coach,
umping, being a commissioner, or running for a position on the board at
Harrison Recreation, completion of the CDC's concussion training is a
MUST. Below is a link to the "Heads UP" concussion training now
available from the CDC. This on-line tutorial will take approximately 45
minutes to 1 hour and is required before serving in any capacity
at Harrison Recreation as of January 1, 2014. Print off the signed
certificate and the coach signature form and turn it into your age group
director or a Harrison Recreation Board Member.
Harrison Recreation is taking proactive
action in providing a safe and secure recreation program for every child
in every sport. We do not take this for granted and will do everything
in our power to make sure all kids at Harrison Recreation are kept safe
and healthy!
PARENTS: When signing up for sports in
the Spring/Fall of 2014, you will be asked to sign a compliance waiver
understanding that Harrison Recreation coaches and/or other official
representatives will remove your child from play is a concussion is
suspected and will not return without a doctors note. For more
information on concussions and parent waiver forms, check out the
Tennessee Concussion Law link under site links on the home page.
