Player Spotlight: Lindsey Howard

With the departure of the original Linds (better known in certain circles as Ninja), Lindsey Howard has become the Linds for the Stone Lions, thus reducing confusion and frustration, although never quite eliminating the need for her amazing and well-deserved nickname of “T-Rex”. I will leave up to the reader the task of imagining creative ways in which one could earn such a name…

Lindsey is a talented back-line player, if such a thing can be said to exist, with the versatile ability to competently wear any jersey numbered 9 through 15. In this author’s humble opinion, T-Rex’s greatest contribution to the Stone Lions has come from the great wisdom-beyond-her-years quality (she is, after all, barely of drinking age) that enables her to be such an effective Scrum Half. That is no mean feat, T-Rex, and we love you for it.

During the three or four seasons Lindsey has played with NWRFC, she has shown consistent improvement. She may not be the fastest, strongest, or smartest player on the Pitch, but she is one of the most dependable and consistent ones. She shows up at practice almost without fail, even though she has to drive from who knows how far, around an hour to the north of Nashville – her home town being Way-North-of-Goodlettsville, TN.

In her natural state, the T-Rex can be observed baking donuts at Dunkin’, making sandwiches at same said place (and I quote: “I’m the only one on staff that knows how to make the sandwiches!”), playing Ant-Smasher on her iPhone (with such intensity that you might think the ants were dressed in pink and black!), and cuddling up to a handsome young man frequently seen dressed like Spider Man. And who can blame her, all of those pursuits lead to happiness!

Little known facts about Lindsey: She refuses to re-type her notes for player-profiles when they are destroyed in the wash. No matter, we can always make something up on this end!
