WASHINGTON - DC Stoddert Soccer had its second consecutive successful weekend of tournaments with three tournament champions, along with several runners-up.

The club’s youngest girls had success in the Hunt Country Classic despite being runners up in both U10 Divisions. The GU10 Blue fell 2-0 to PWSI Courage (Va.) while GU10 Red came up short in the final to VSA 10G Ertz (Va.).

On the Boys side at the Hunt Country Classic, both the Boys U9 White and the Boys U12 Blue won their brackets. The U12 Blue won their second tournament of the month by beating La Plata Raptors 4-2, after taking home the trophy at the Columbia Fall Classic. The U9 White topped a talented Loudoun Gray team 2-0 in the final.

The Girls U12 Red traveled north to the Southampton Cup where they posted a record of 1-1-1 in the group stage to finish second and advance to the final against Maryland Rush (Md.). The first half held close with both teams having chances in the very even match. Rush broke through late in the second half leaving the Girls U12 Red as tournament runners-up.

The high school blue teams for both the boys and girls competed in showcase events. The boys competed at the Bethesda Showcase. The Boys 03 Blue led the way of all DC Stoddert teams with a 3-0-0 record and no goals conceded. The 02 and 05 Boys both finished 2-1-0, with the 05s ending in a three-way tie for first in their bracket.

For the girls, who went to the CASL Showcase (N.C.), the Girls U19 finished 2-0-0 with their third match being rained out. The Girls U15 went 1-1-1 in the Elite Black Bracket while GU16 had one match rained out and finished 1-0-1 to finish the fall season.
