It's that time of year again! Our 2023 Recreational Fall Soccer session has opened registration as of today! Please head over to www.desotomosoccer.org to get signed up. Additional details are found below. 

Please note: registration will close on Friday, August 25 – no exceptions. We are waiving all late fees this year to ensure everyone has a chance to sign up and play!  

Also – if you are interested in impacting a child’s life, please consider signing up to coach! There are some really cool benefits, including 1:1 time spent with your kiddo and their teammates and reimbursement of your child’s registration ($47 value). 

Finally, if your player is interested in joining our DeSoto Youth Soccer Camp (grades 1-8) hosted on Mon, 7/31, Tues, 8/1 and Wed, 8/2, please register separately. Cost is $25. More details may be found on the separate registration form on our website.

YOUTH PARK/RECREATION SOCCER
OVERVIEW
In Park Recreation Soccer the primary objective is for players to develop and have fun. 

DIVISIONS
Players will generally be required to play in the grade in which they will be enrolled for the 2023-24 school year. In some special situations, coaches and parents may elect to "move up" a player to the next grade level division. 

Preschool division will NOT have games. Their regular practices may include scrimmages at the end of the season.

SCHEDULES
We will finalize schedules based on weather and field conditions.

Below is the tentative season schedule:
Sat 07/01: Registration Open
Tues 08/08: Camp style practice for grades 1-4, 5:30-6:30
Wed 08/09: Camp style practice for grades 5-8, 5:30-6:30
Tues 08/15: Camp style practice for grades 1-4, 5:30-6:30
Wed 08/16: Camp style practice for grades 5-8, 5:30-6:30
Tues 08/22: Camp style practice for grades 1-4, 5:30-6:30
Wed 08/23: Camp style practice for grades 5-8, 5:30-6:30
Fri 08/25: REGISTRATION CLOSES - no exceptions. Tell your friends to register before 8/25!

Once registration closes, typical division practice will be as follow, but subject to change.
Practices will begin the week of 8/28:
• Monday - PreK/K
• Tuesday - 1/2 grade
• Wednesday - 3/4 grade
• Thursday - 5/6 & 7/8 grade
Practices will run weekly beginning the week of 8/28 through the week of 10/02.
Final practice schedules will be set by each coach.

Games:
• Our opening game weekend will be Saturday, 9/16, and run through Saturday, 10/07. Additionally, each team will have one weekday game during their regular practice day.
• Preschool will not have games but may have scrimmages during practices at end of season. 
• Scheduling for 5 games or more will be played by each team, but we attempt to have as many games as possible.
• Games which are cancelled or postponed due to weather will be attempted to be made up based on availability.

COSTS
Soccer is one of the most affordable sports available.  We do our best to keep the cost down for our programs.
• Registration cost for K, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, & 7/8 is $47 which includes a jersey. PreK division is $37 which also includes a jersey.
• Registration closes on Fri, Aug 25; no late registration will be accepted.
• Please note: there is a $3 per order processing fee which is charged by our software vendor.
• Parents with more than one player within the same household will receive a $5 discount for each additional player.
• All charges are non-refundable other than for League decisions.
• Parents who serve as Head Coach or Assistant Coach will receive a free coach's shirt. In addition, their player's registration fee will be reimbursed at the conclusion of the season. (Only one credit will be applied per player)

GAME/PRACTICE LOCATION
Practices and games will be held at the DeSoto Soccer Complex on 730 Vineland School Road, De Soto MO, 63020. As needed to do weather, earlier darkness, etc., practice may be held at DeSoto High School Football Field on Culwell Stadium Dr in De Soto. Please watch email and Facebook for updates. There is no tobacco or vaping during Desoto Soccer League activities at any location.

CLUB/SELECT SOCCER
For our players K-8 who are interested in further developing their skills with advanced training, we will be hosting open select practices on the following dates at the DeSoto Soccer Complex. Participation is voluntary for these open select practices; however, in order to be considered for the club/select team, players must attend a mandatory tryout (date/time to be communicated soon). More information regarding sign ups, team selection, pricing, etc., will be coming soon.

Open Select Practices: 
Mon, 08/07, 8/14, 8/21, 8/28, 9/4, 9/11, & 9/18 @ 5:30-7PM
Once team selections are made, coaches will communicate team practice dates/times.
